DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNIING WEEK FOR MEMBERS
The 29th Northern Ireland Milk
Cup was a week of further development for the members of the Fermanagh and Western Referees Association and a delighted Chairman,
Basil Marshall "It been a good week with members giving good performances and there also continue development and learning
which will only benefit in the future." The Association members were busy all week and it was rewarded with some
good appointments as Roy Beacom began the week as assistant referee in the Elite level and on Friday evening was assistant
referee in Elite Final between Northern Ireland and Demark. Scott Brier, Luke Ormsby and Andy Stevenson all kept busy
with latter assistant referee in Premier 3rd/4th play off as Desportivo (Brazil) and Etoile Lusitana (Senegal) which was refereed
by Tim Marshall. Luke Ormsby was assistant referee in Junior 3rd/4th play off when Ipswich Town played FC Northsjaelland. Scott Brier had good week with impresive displays which resulted in tow appointments as assistant referees in the NIMC Bowl
Final between Swindon Town and ABCopenhagen and in the Premier NIMC Globe Final between South Coast Strikers and Tottenham
Hotspur. The Milk Cup were delighted to have our FIFA Assistant Richard Storey in attendance for a few days, while
David Hamilton was busy refereeing and doing lines in the Elite Group as Joshua Porter development during week continued and
was rewarded with appointmnet to referee Premier NIMC Vase between Harlepool United against Co Down. Tim Marshall completed
in his 10th Milk Cup and during week refereed in Premier Cup with Manchester United v Hartlepool United at Showgrounds Limavady
the highlight of a busy week. On Friday night he was 4th Official when Aspire played Manchester United in Ballymena.

SCOTT BRIER AND ANDY STEVENSON SET FOR DEBUT AT MILK CUP
Omagh pair Scott Brier and Andrew Stevenson are set for first Northern Ireland
Milk Cup this year and it be another step in there career as referee, both are very much looking forward to the International
Tournament. The Association members attending are Tim Marshall, David Hamilton, Joshua Porter, Andrew Stevenson, Scott
Brier, Richard Storey, Roy Beacom and Luke Ormsby.
THE CREAM COME TO TOP AT THE MILK CUP
This year Northern Ireland Milk Cup as proved very successful for the
Association with two of three major finals been refereed by members with a total of eight final appointments showing that
everyone performed with excellent performances been rewarded with Joshua Porter and Like Ormsby also on the line in Milk Cup
3rd/4th play-off games and Valerie McManus had very good week with appointments in profile games.
The Northern
Ireland MIlk Cup (Junior) was refereed by 22 year old Tim Marshall at his ninth Milk Cup when Chelsea and Cruz Azul played
at Ballymena Showgrounds with Kilskeery Niall Murphy and Keith Kennedy (Lisburn) the two assistants, Keith spend the full
week with our members in Porstewart with the experienced Dick Tucker (Derry) fourth official.
The Association
Senior Referee Arnold Hunter was appointed to referee the Elite Final when USA played Northern Ireland also had Ballymena Showgrounds
with Omagh Tony Sharkey and Mark Millar (NWRA) the assistants and Dungannon Raymond Hetherington fourth official.
Enniskillen David Hamilton ensured the association had a member in each of the major finals when he was assistant referee
when Etoile Lusitana and Bolton Wanderers played each other in Premier Final with Limavady Dessie Loughrey the referee
and Ian McNabb (NEURA) the other assistant with Damien Basketfield (Banbridge) fourth official.
Clare
Noble and Niall Murphy came home with two final appointments with both of them assistant referees in the Slemish
Trophy Final (Junior) when Aspire played County Londonderrry, the Castlederg woman completed the double in the Slemish Tropy
Final (Premier) when Manchester United played Hartlepool.
Association Chairman Basil Marshall was delighted
"The final appointments were well deserved and all our members performed to high level during the week
for the us to get appointments in all three finals, refereing Junior and Elite Milk Cup Finals in one year
speaks volumes for the strides being made and this another stepping stone in right direction."
PORTER YOUNGEST TO REFEREE AT MILK CUP
17 year old Joshua Porter becomes the youngest
referee to take charge of a game in the Junior Milk Cup when he refereed Everton against Hapoel Haifa at Broughshane, it was
a good week for young Joshua who was also assistant referee in the 3rd/4th Junior Milk Cup play off when Dundalk SL played
Swindon Town.
SEMI-FINAL APPOINTMENTS AND ELITE APPOINTMENTS
It been busy week for
members at Milk Cup with Arnold Hunter refereeing Japan v Denmark and China v Northern Ireland with Clare Noble assistant
referee in both these games also, Tim Marshall assistant referee in the Northern Ireland v Mexico encounter while he was fourth
official when Mexico played Japan. Valerie McManus and Niall Murphy had also appointments as assistant referees in Elite
games.
In the Premier Milk Cup semi final Deportivo Brazil v Bolton Wanderers we had Clare Noble as assistant
referee while Tim Marshall was fourth official while also in Premier Section Dunluce Trophy it was Joshua Porter on the
line when Cherry Orchard played cruz Azul.
Tony Sharkey was appointed as referee in Junior Slemish Trophy
semi final when Aspire played Kashima Antlers with Clare Noble as assistant referee while Luke Ormsby was assistant referee
in Dunluce Trophy semi final, County Down v County Fermanagh.

HIS MARK AT MILK CUP
The opening days appointments at one of Europe biggest Youth Tournaments
as been good for the members of Association with Luke Ormsby first game at Anderson Park when Kashima Antlers played Aspire
with Tim Marshall the referee for the game. David Hamilton was in the middle when Dundalk SL played Co Antrim, while
Arnold Hunter will be the referee for Elite game between Japan v Denmark with Clare Noble one of the assistant.
Valerie McManus will be assistant referee when USA v China.
Luke Ormsby first Northern Ireland Milk Cup
Enniskillen Luke Ormsby as been selected for the 2010 Northern Ireland Milk
Cup in July along with other members of the Association will be based in Portstewart. Basil Marshall was delighted for
those selected but felt a few others could well have made it also, but having Luke there great after having his missing out
the two previous years, others attending are Arnold Hunter, Tim Marshall, Niall Murphy, Clare Noble, Valerie McManus, Joshau
Porter, Tony Sharkey and David Hamilton.

Performances Reach New Level
at Milk Cup
The members at this year Milk Cup reached a new level of performances
with members receiving top appointments all week thus proving its just not about getting Finals.
Valerie McManus had two appointments in the Elite International games while
Clare Noble receieved three appointments at this level also, David Hamilton was on line in Premier Section in Manchester United
opening game before a grion injury left him out for two days.
Joshua Porter in his first Milk Cup gained great experience as did Omagh Tony
Sharkey, while the Boss, Basil Marshall showed his experience on the line also.
Tim Marshall refereed games in Junior and Premier sections and fourth official
in the Elite Internationals while Niall Murphy as Junior referee became one yougest referees to take charge of a game in this
International Tournament.
Slemish Premier Final
The
County Londodnderry verus County Antrin Premier Final at Ballymena Showgrounds had three members as involved with referee
being Tim Marshall with the assistants being Clare Noble and Niall Murphy while IFA Premier Referee Colin Burns was fourth
official.
Niall in Premier Final
Niall Murphy performances during the week was rewarded with an
appontment in the Premier Final between Manchester United and Sheffield United.
Niall also had Elite International also as well as Slemish Premier Final and
added to that he became youngest to referee a Premier game during the week.
Tim in the Elite Final
Tim Marshall good performances was completed with appoinment as Fourth Offial
in the Elite International Final when Northern Ireland played Denamrk at Coleraine Showgrounds,
Having refereed the Milk Cup quater final earlier in the week, Tim was appointments
in Eliet Internationals during the week as well as referee in the Slemish Premier Cup Final.
Joshua Final Appointment
Sixteen year old Joshua Porter continued good performances earned him appointment
as assistant referee in the Junior Slemish Cup Final at Broughshame.
Overall the appointments receieved during week showed the quality of performances
given by everyone was of a highest level and its well done to everyone
MEMBERS SET FOR 2009 INTERNATIONAL
NORTHERN IRELAND MILK CUP
Association Chairman, Basil Marshall on the news of referees selected
for 2009 Milk Cup was delighted that number of referees selected as reached double figures.
Marshall will be at Milk Cup along with rest that were selected for the
International Tournament, Arnold Hunter, Stewart Blair, Tim Marshall, Clare Noble, Valerie McManus, David Anderson, David
Hamilton, Tony Sharkey, Niall Murphy and Joshua Porter.
Fermanagh and Western Referees are
the Cream at the Northern Ireland Milk Cup
Fermanagh and Western Referees had a very successful Milk Cup with them getting
a large amount of the major appointments during the week, others may judge there week on finals but without doubt its the
overall performance during the week thats important and to this end the members of this Association proved this with appointments
received.
Clare referees at Milk Cup
Castlederg woman Clare Noble became first female at Junior Level
to referee a game at Northern Ireland International Milk cup when she took charge of Aspire against Rosenborg on Friday morning
at Rugby Avenue Coleraine.
In the Milk Cup games are refereed by either senior or intermediate
referee and this appointment certainly on Clare will be honoured to have taken charge of and she joins Andi Regan who as also
refereed as intermediate referee. Omagh Desmond McLaughlin was one of the assistant referees for Clare in this game.
Hunter 4th Official Elite Final
Arnold Hunter completed good week as 4th Official in the Elite
Northern Ireland Milk Cup Final between Northern Ireland and Chile, Hunter during week refereed three Elite games and also
the Northern Ireland Milk Cup semi final between Manchester United and Watford.
Anderson and Marshall, Hat rick of Finals
Richard Anderson and Tim Marshall both completed hat rick appearnces in the
finals of the International Northern Ireland Milk Cup on Friday night at the Showgrounds Coleraine.
Marshall completed his seventh Milk Cup with his 3rd final, when assistant
referee in the Premier Final when Manchester United played South Coast Bayern. Tim in 2004 was assistant referee in the Junior
Final and also assistant referee in Elite Final in 2006.
Anderson was assistant referee in the Elite Final when Northern Ireland played
Chile, Anderson in 2005 was assistant referee in the Junior Final and in the Premier Final 2006.
Anderson debut Final
The Dunluce Junior Final had David Anderson as the assistant referee
and this good achievement for the sixteen year old in his first Milk Cup.
The final was played at Roe Mill Limavady when Brondy (Denmark)
defeated Watford 2-0 with Irvinestown Tim Marshall the referee, thus completing a great week for him.

Eight Referees selected for Northern Ireland
Milk Cup

The Fermanagh and Western Referees will have eight referees at the Northern
Ireland Milk Cup in the one of World top Youth Tournaments and Chairman Basil Marshall deleighted with so many going from
the Association.
Marshall will once again lead the men and women in the black from the F&W to the
North West and with young David Anderson making his debut at the Milk Cup.
The members going are Arnie Hunter, Tim Marshall, Clare Noble, Richard Anderson, Niall Murphy,
Basil Marshall, David Hamilton and David Anderson.
Hunter the association senior referee as in last few seasons had succesful Milk
Cup touraments and will hope to continue this with a fews games in the Elite age group.
Tim Marshall will be only Intermediate selected with three IFA assistant referees
Noble, Murphy and Richard Anderson likely to have a busy week.
Enniskillen David Hamiltoon goes to is second tournament hoping to have learn from last
years experience.
